Public School District

In the U.S. and parts of Canada, public school districts are federally required to offer certain services, like special education, to private school students. Parents usually need to request these services. Districts may also invite private schools to workshops and share additional resources. Contact your local district to learn about their referral process.

Local Public Librarian

The local children's librarian is a valuable support for small schools, providing guidance on library use, reference materials, story times, and summer reading programs. While they can help locate resources for the Pathways curriculum, some materials may not be available since Pathways is published by the Adventist Church. Developing a strong relationship with the local library is highly recommended.

Police, Fire, and Safety Departments

Local police, fire, and safety departments are essential community partners. They support schools by participating in safety drills, offering emergency preparedness training, and educating students about safety awareness. These departments can also provide valuable insights about community-specific concerns, helping schools create safer environments.
