Open House
An open house or visitors' day is a special event that allows parents, church members, community, and potential families to visit your school and classroom. It is a time to showcase the school and classroom and visit with those interested in the school program.
Elicit the help of your support team in planning and showcasing your school. Here are a few ideas for a successful open house:
- Organize a work day to make sure the school, grounds, and classroom sparkle!
- Ask the Home and School or parent volunteers to provide refreshments.
- Prepare and provide school information packets to send home with the prospects.
- Display some of the students' best work to display.
- Determine what, if any, program will be presented.
- Be available to answer questions, but remember to circulate to as many visitors as possible.
- Inform the community: Place a notice on your social media, in the church bulletin(s), local newspaper, and any other media outlets in your community.
