Schools should establish formal withdrawal procedures to ensure accurate recordkeeping and student transitions.

Withdrawal Procedures May Include:

  • Official withdrawal documentation
  • Parent/guardian notification
  • Exit interviews when appropriate
  • Financial clearance review
  • Return of school property
  • Transcript updates
  • Records transfer procedures
  • Enrollment reporting updates

The withdrawal date recorded in the SIS should accurately reflect the student’s final date of attendance.
