A child care quality rating helps you easily recognize program quality. Most states use symbols, such as stars, to easily indicate levels of quality. Providers earn higher ratings as the state determines they have met more quality standards.Like rating systems for public schools, hotels, or restaurants, states award child care quality ratings to early learning or child care programs when they meet a set of defined program quality standards.

This brochure was created for parents of four-year old children who are enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten classrooms.  The brochure answers anticipated questions that parents may have about how children are assessed, the difference between report cards vs. developmental tracker, and how will teachers communicate information with parents.

The North American Division Office of Education recognizes the importance of professional development for early childhood educators.  This manual provides procedures for acquiring and maintaining the NAD Early Childhood Education in collaboration with conference and union guidance. The professional growth process will be guided by goals and priorities that improve skills, performance, and effectiveness of growth and development of young children.
