Job Summary and Duties:
The Title IX Coordinator has primary responsibility across all campus-based programs to monitor and oversee Title IX, including compliance with Violence Against Women Act/Campus SaVE Act, other legislative actions, and all other relevant Office of Civil Rights directives. The Title IX Coordinator works under the supervision of the President lead the College’s efforts to prevent any gender and sex discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Such efforts will include coordination of training, education, communications and administration of complaint procedures for faculty, staff, students, and third parties.
Abbreviated Primary Duties and Functions include, but are not limited to the following:
•Oversees College responses to all Title IX complaints. Ensures investigations comply with the College’s written procedures and Title IX requirements under Pacific Union College’s Sexual Misconduct Policy (Title IX), including notices, timelines, training, and interim actions.
•Monitors and identifies, through campus climate surveys, focus groups, and other assessment efforts, opportunities for improvement in the College’s Title IX response, programs and services.
•Provides periodic and annual reports as appropriate.
•Provides leadership to the College’s Title IX team, including ensuring that all Title IX investigators and adjudicators are trained regularly.
•Regularly reviews College policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Oversees the development and monitoring of all Title IX related College policies and implementation of grievance procedures as appropriate.
•Maintains up-to-date knowledge and information regarding Title IX law, regulations, and regulatory guidance, as well as best practices.
Experience: Desirable Qualifications: Required Education
• Master’s Degree preferred. Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Higher Education Administration, Human Resources, or a related field desired.
•Minimum Experience: 2 - 3 years of progressively responsible experience in areas such as complaint resolution, student judicial affairs, human resources management, or Title IX/Equal Employment Opportunity/Americans with Disability Act compliance, including significant experience handling investigations related to sexual harassment, discrimination, and/or sexual violence.
•Preferred Experience: 5 or more years of related experience, including experience in handling grievances and conducting investigations alleging gender-based violence, discrimination and/or harassment (Title IX investigations in a Higher Education setting). Experience in interpreting federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity laws and Title IX regulations. Experience dealing with workplace dispute resolution and/or student conduct adjudication in a Higher Education setting. Administrative experience in Higher Education, nonprofit, or public sector organizations; successful development and implementation of educational and training programs, with strong presentation and facilitation skills.
