Description: The position of Athletic Director at Walla Walla University is a 12 month, full-time position providing administrative oversight and spiritual leadership to (currently 7) varsity sports in WWU's NAIA program, and the campus' intramural recreation program. Reporting to the Vice President of Student Life, the position oversees all aspects of the athletic program, and intramural recreational activities, including supervision of 7 head coaches, various assistant coaches, sports medicine staff, and student-employees; representing the University in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC); collaborating with WWU's Advancement staff on fundraising activities, Marketing and Enrollment staff on recruitment activities, Academic Records & the Faculty Athletics Representative on eligibility, and various other WWU departments; overseeing various student-athlete groups, and day-to-day operation of the program for a (current) target of about 117 student-athletes.

Experience: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Physical Education, or related area of study. Master’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Physical Education, or related area of study preferred.
• Years of experience: 3-5 years, 5-10 years preferred.
• Additional Job-Specific Qualifications:
Minimum: Microsoft Office, Familiarity with website development application(s). Able to integrate personal faith into work. Effective communicator with the ability to articulate the athletic missions among various constituencies with the University and beyond. Previous coaching, recruiting, and leadership experience. Preferred: Knowledge of the parameters of operating and NAIA athletic program. Previous or current experience: Managing budgets, staff management, fundraising and intercollegiate coaching and recruiting experience.
