Description: Great Lakes Adventist Academy is searching for a committed Seventh-day Adventist Bible teacher and chaplain with a passion for the gospel and youth ministry.
Great Lakes Adventist Academy is a 9-12 grade boarding academy located in Cedar Lake, Michigan on approximately 400 acres and it serves approximately 180 students. GLAA was established in 1987 when Cedar Lake Academy (est. 1898) and Adelphian Academy (est. 1904) merged to become one school, so the school is well established and rich with history. The selected individual will teach Bible II and Bible III, as well as fulfill the role of chaplain. Chaplaincy will require counseling students, leading and coordinating Bible studies, providing spiritual leadership to various aspects of the school program including, but not limited to, Friday vespers, Sabbath school, Sabbath afternoon programming, Weeks of Prayer, and Bible Camp. The chaplain will be organized, flexible, approachable, a team player, and have a passion for advancing the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that will be contagious to the students.
Experience: The ideal candidate would be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good standing, have a Bachelors degree in Religious Education, possess or be able to obtain denominational teacher certification, have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, and be trained in the Encounter Bible Series. The candidate must be able to work in the United States.
