Description: Summary: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation, and integration of the finance and budgeting systems with accounting operations of Pacific Union College (PUC), and Howell Mountain Enterprises (HME), hereafter referred to as “Enterprise”. Duties: Provide leadership and supervision over the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities. Set daily, monthly, and annual operating schedules to obtain timely interim and yearend financial reports. Collaborate with Administration and AVP of Finance to assist in preparation of annual budget and forecasts. Provide financial analysis tools and metrics to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital investments, product costing, contract negotiations when necessary. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving department’s goals and objectives. Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise all accounting staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, disciplining, performance reviews, addressing complaints and solving problems in accordance with institution policies and applicable laws. Wage Rate: Commensurate upon degree and qualifications (plus denominational benefits based on experience and qualifications)
Experience: Desirable Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. CPA license preferred. • Minimum of five years’ experience in accounting or finance with progressive management and supervisory responsibilities. • Demonstrated experience in managing financial operations for colleges and universities, or other complex not-for-profit entities is required. • Knowledge of Accounting software system; database and online applications; Microsoft Suite.
