Description: Portland Adventist Academy seeks an experienced VP of Finance to work closely with the principal, Board of Trustees, and staff to direct and oversee the planning, implementation, and management of all finance-related activities of the school’s daily operations as well as its capital campaign. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, payroll, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal negotiations, deal analysis and negotiations, and private and institutional financing. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the physical plant (i.e., maintenance, custodial, and grounds functions), managing the transportation fleet, and serving as an active and engaged member of the administrative team. This position reports directly to the principal.
Experience: To be considered, a candidate must possess a degree in accounting or finance with at least two years of successful experience in the field of finance. A candidate with a degree in another field may be considered with five years of successful experience in the field of finance. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a willingness to participate in the lives of students is a must, as is the ability to present complex information in an easy-to-understand format in both small and large settings. A candidate must also be a member in good standing in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and possess the legal right to work in the United States.
