Description: Human Resources Generalist (Full-Time, Hourly/Non-Exempt Position)
The HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office and supports all employment related activities for both student and non-student employees.
-Provides general office services including word processing, filing, and copying materials as needed, answering the telephone and directing calls as appropriate.
-Assists with organizing and maintaining files and records.
-Posts job openings as they become available, collects and processes all applications/resumes for regular employment and distributes as necessary to the various departments.
-Coordinates full-employment cycle for employees, including but not limited to, New Employee Orientation, Onboarding, and End of employment items.
-Acts as recording secretary for the Human Resource Committee.
-Generates and updates all faculty and adjunct contracts in cooperation with the Benefits & Compensation Manager and Academic Administration.
-Prepares all new employee documentation and ensures that new employees’ complete all required employment forms, including form I-9.
-Enters and maintains all employee information in DataTel computer system ensuring accurate status, remuneration, and payroll distribution
-Works closely with Student Employment Coordinator (SEC) to stay aware of current issues/procedures so as to cover those duties when SEC is not available.
-Generates scheduled reports weekly/monthly as necessary and special reports on request to carry out the functions of Human Resources and other departments as arranged
-Enters COLA and merit raises, perquisites, personal communication allowances, summer stipends, and other miscellaneous raises or payments for employees.
-Oversees inventory and purchases office supplies and hospitality items as needed.
-Assists Benefit & Compensation Manager with the annual reapplications of health care applications.

Experience: Qualifications: BA/BS degree or a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in general office practice; Human Resources experience preferred. Must be familiar with State and Federal laws related to employment.
-Communication: Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in written form)
-Handling Sensitive/Confidential Information
-Computer skills: Strong in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HR software (including record/time keeping or talent management).
-Broad range of Human Resources functions (supporting benefits administration, talent acquisition/recruitment, employee relations, and payroll)
