Description: The Chemistry Department seeks a full-time faculty member effective June 1, 2017 with teaching responsibilities to commence at the beginning of the fall semester in late August. Teaching responsibilities will include courses for non-majors, chemistry for nursing and allied health majors, and lower division general and/or organic chemistry labs. Additional course responsibilities may be assigned depending on the qualifications and interests of the successful candidate.
Along with the teaching responsibilities above, this faculty member will provide effective academic advising for chemistry majors, assist with extracurricular departmental activities and student recruiting, work collegially with fellow faculty members and students to promote a nurturing learning environment, and serve on departmental and university committees as needed.
Experience: A master’s degree in chemistry is required (Ph.D. is preferred), with demonstrated knowledge of and experience in applying best practices for teaching chemistry at the undergraduate level, and a commitment to teaching from a Biblical foundation.
The successful candidate must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ and the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and be a SDA church member in good and regular standing.
